CIRCLED CUP MARKS

The Cup Marks can be very difficult to categorize, but in general they all symbolize Stars or Light in the night Sky, and therefore one must have some knowledge of Star Constellations, of the Milky Way Contours  and some other celestial facts in order to understand.

Picture 1 shows some sketched Cup Marks in black with 1 Cup Mark placed in a so called wheel. In general the Wheel is interpreted as a "Sun-Wheel", but the Cup Marks shows the Star Constellation of Ursa Minor or Little Bear/Little Dipper. The "Sun-Wheel" is in this case a Mark for the Celestial north pole and should be called a POLE-WHEEL.

Picture 2 is a sketched drawing of the most simple shape contour of the Northern Milky Way. The wheel marks the celestial Pole. A general Star Atlas shows clearly the Milky Way contours.

Picture 3 shows a more detailed Swedish Rock Art figure of the Northern Milky Way contour. The Circle in the body indicate "something revolving" and the Cup Marks inside the Circle indicate Stars.

2 more Rock Art carvings showing how to describe Stars revolving a center point.

2 Rock Art carvings showing revolving Stars around a center point.

Picture 1 originate from Native America. Picture 2 shows an animation of a Star Atlas picture of the Northern Milky Way compared to a Swedish Rock Art Carving. Picture 3 is a Bronze Age Shield which, in my opinion shows the Night Sky revolving around a center point.

According to Norse Mythology, the World was divided in 3 Spheres as on picture 1. The Museum Copy of a Finnish Bronze Age Artifact on picture 2, is VERY astonishing! How could somebody in the Bronze Age understand and picture something that easily could symbolize our Galaxy with the Solar System? Picture 3 could also very likely symbolize the Night Sky with all the Stars.

The 4 Directions are very well known in ancient times. Here are 3 different Rock Art carvings, all showing the full celestial view with Directions and Stars.
